Amex: US Open Fan Experience

At the US Open Tennis Championships, American Express once again established a commanding presence with a 24,000-square-foot Fan Experience designed to engage thousands of tennis fans and Card Members throughout the tournament.

As Design Director, I led the creative vision from concept through execution, reimagining the large-scale environment with a more elevated, premium design language. A refreshed material palette grounded in natural textures, refined finishes, and custom patterning brought a new level of warmth and sophistication to the space, setting it apart within the high-energy context of the grounds.

The experience was designed as a dynamic, multi-zoned destination, blending public-facing activations with exclusive Card Member moments. Guests moved through interactive installations, customization stations, and branded giveaways, alongside dedicated lounge environments that offered a more relaxed, hospitality-driven experience. From hands-on activations like personalized merchandise stations and interactive tennis experiences to elevated lounges featuring curated food, beverage, and programming, every touchpoint was designed to balance accessibility with exclusivity.

The result was a cohesive, large-scale brand environment that blended sport, culture, and design, reinforcing American Express’ role in transforming the US Open into a premium, experience-driven destination beyond the court.
