Amex: An Evening with Platinum & Olivia Rodrigo

To celebrate the launch of the new Platinum Card benefits in Fall 2025, American Express partnered with Olivia Rodrigo to give Card Members an unforgettable night at the historic Park Avenue Armory. The experience began well before the venue doors opened, with a citywide tease including life-sized Platinum card drops, large-scale supergraphics, and hints from Olivia on her social channels, building excitement for what would be one of the final shows of her acclaimed G.U.T.S tour.

As Design Director, I led the creative vision for the event, transforming the iconic venue into a seamless integration of Platinum’s elevated aesthetic with Olivia’s signature style. From an elevated cocktail hour for influencers and industry guests to immersive photo activations, retail and F&B spaces, and premium gifts at every seat, the environment blended chrome, mirrored surfaces, and layered materials to create a cohesive, premium experience.

For Olivia’s performance, we were entrusted with the full stage backdrop design. Drawing inspiration from her iconic star motifs, we layered Platinum and beaded materials to create a backdrop that felt luxurious, dynamic, and fully aligned with her lighting direction, while maintaining a cohesive connection to the Platinum brand. The result was an immersive, meticulously curated event that celebrated both Card Members and the launch of the new benefits in a way that was distinctly unforgettable.
